National Parks & Wildlife Service Discovery Walks Talks and Tours

The NPWS National Discovery Walks, Talks and Tours Program offers a fantastic insight into the unexpected delights of your national parks.  Developed for all ages and led by specialist, these fun and fascinating activities will introduce you to the wealth of natural, cultural and historic heritage within your local national parks and nature reserves.

Tuesday 30th December 2014

Rockpool Scramble Merimbula.   For ages 6-12  Rated:  Easy  Time:  12pm to 1:30pm Meeting place:  Merimbula Wharf Park  Cost $10.00 per child.

Rockpools are a fascinating are to explore where the land meets the sea.  Crabs scuttle over the rocks, shorebirds forage for food and anemones and sea stars sparkle like jewels  in the shimmering ponds.

Merimbula Snorkelling Safari.   Rated:  Medium  Time:  3pm to 5pm Meeting place:  Merimbula Merimbula Bar Beach Cost $30  per person equipment supplied.

Explore the fascinating marine habitats surrounding Merimbula’s beautiful Bar Beach.  Sound swimming ability required.

Wednesday 31st December 2014

Bournda paddle  Rated:  Easy  Time:  2pm to 4pm Meeting place:  Bournda lagoon  Cost $25.00 per person.

A canoe trip on beautiful Bournda lagoon.  Keep your eyes peeled for Kingfishers and water dragons as you paddle along one of the most picturesque waterways of the Sapphire Coast.

Rocky Shore Ramble.   Rated:  Easy  Time: 10am to 11.30am Meeting place:  Shellys Beach Eden   Cost $10.00 per person or $40.00 for a family.

Join marine scientist exploring the amazing diversity of life found on rock platforms.
