Located in the Mimosa Rocks National Park, this lagoon is the perfect spot for birdwatching and fishing.
From the Nelson Beach carpark, it’s a short and easy walk to the lagoon.
Don’t forget those binoculars!
Spring is the ideal time for a spot of birdwatching at the lagoon – be on the lookout for pied oystercatchers, striated thornbills and little wattlebirds.
Sit back and enjoy a spot of fishing, or if you’re looking for something a little more active, bring your kayak and go for a paddle around the lagoon.
There are beautiful spots along the water’s edge for a picnic.
And it’s not far to get back to the beach.
