Merimbula Aquarium

The Merimbula Wharf Aquarium and Restaurant is a brilliant attraction in Merimbula.

Open 10am daily – you can get up close and personal with the denizens of the deep and learn about the fascinating creatures.

The 70,000 litre oceanarium and 27 other tanks are all full of local and tropical marine life of all kinds. Moray eels, lobsters, sharks, shrimp, colourful sea slugs as well as sea anemones and the ‘finding nemo’ clown fish which hide in their poisonous tendrils.

You might also see the reclusive octopus

Make sure you visit during the fish feeding times – there’s plenty of action as the creatures come out to feed and you get to meet and talk to the keepers who look after the tanks full of information.

Fish feeding times:
11.30am – Monday, Wednesday & Friday
11.30am – Monday to Friday during school holidays

The restaurant is also a great place to grab a bite – the menu is full of local favourites and the ocean views are fantastic.

Unique toys and gifts are available from the gift shop on the way out. From stylish ocean themed homewares to cute ocean plush toys, there’s something for everyone.

Located on The Wharf Lake Street in Merimbula, New South Wales.
