Merimbula is a coastal town that makes up one of four major oases of civilisation on New South Wales’ Far South Coast.

It’s a quiet coastal village and is renowned for its beautiful waterways and surrounding dense forests. It’s often called the Jewel of the Sapphire Coast with it’s gentle climate, pristine beaches and abundant natural beauty.

First explored in 1797 by some of Australia’s earliest explorers. Merimbula is a great place to stay and offers unparalleled access to some of Australia’s most well regarded and significant National Parks.

The town buzzes with special events year round like Jazz Festivals, Orchid Shows and Fishing Competitions as well as the popular Merimbula Malibu and competitive wavesailing, kitesurfing and stand up paddle-boarding.

The freshest and most delectable seafood can be found in this coastal gem, whether it’s prepared by chefs in careful stacks or deep fried at the local co-op and served with slices of fresh lemon, you’re going to find something to enjoy here for sure. Award winning and locally grown oysters and mussels are a must try.

If you’re feeling energetic get active, you’ve got great beaches so close-by and there are the protected lake waters that are perfect for a range of awesome water-sports.
